Mixed animal internship – Colorado Equine Clinic (CEC) & The Small Animal Clinic at CEC
The goal of the internship program at Colorado Equine is to produce a veterinarian who is a well-rounded practitioner ready to expand their skills in equine and/or small animal practice. In exchange for mentorship, we expect adherence to the Vision and Mission of the practice and to its clients and patients. We are looking for dedicated individuals who have the desire to serve clients and patients and advance in equine, some ruminant, and small animal medicine. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm to perform intern duties with a positive attitude.
Colorado Equine Colorado Equine Clinic offers a mixed animal internship outside of Denver, Colorado in an environment which allows for hands on experience while growing at the rate that suits you best. Internship duration is June-June. The intern will spend, on average, half their time in small animal medicine, the other half in equine medicine. They will participating in rounds, sit-down case presentations/literature reviews, and be part of ongoing podiatry research done through the practice. We do general small animal and equine medicine with a strong focus on referral sport medicine, podiatry, and chiropractic services. Emergency calls will start when the intern and clinicians feel the intern is competent, usually starting September. Emergency time will be every other weekend with one 4 day and one three day weekend off per month.
The internship is salaried with benefits typical of internship programs. Housing is not provided. In order to apply for the internship, a one week externship is required prior to application.
